Tasaud prepares Omani SMEs to meet OQGN's operational, safety and quality standards. Across three phases it identifies the gaps, closes them through training and mentoring, then walks each business through certification and pre-qualification until it is ready to register as an OQGN vendor.
Tasaud targets Muscat and Al Batinah to support communities along the pipeline corridor, and prioritises women, youth and green enterprise in line with Oman Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Your business is assessed against OQGN's actual vendor requirements, producing a tailored improvement roadmap rather than generic advice.
Structured training in safety and quality standards, plus operational systems workshops, with mentoring and progress monitoring throughout.
Certification facilitation, help assembling pre-qualification documentation, and mock audits before the real thing.
Individual sector-specific mentoring, hands-on pitch preparation, and continued access to networking and advisory support through Sharakah's SME portal.
Tasaud exists to build a qualified, compliant and competitive pool of Omani SMEs capable of delivering to OQGN's operational requirements.
Months 1 to 2. Call for applications, screening and selection, gap assessments against OQGN requirements, and a development roadmap for each business. You finish this phase knowing exactly where you stand.
Months 3 to 4. Safety and quality training, operational systems workshops, and mentoring with progress monitoring. You finish this phase with measurable movement toward compliance.
Months 5 to 6. Certification facilitation, pre-qualification documentation and mock audits. You finish ready to register as an OQGN vendor with your documentation complete.
Most development programmes end with recognition. Tasaud ends with participants positioned to register on OQGN's vendor list, which is the point at which procurement opportunities actually open. For OQGN it strengthens the local supplier ecosystem; for the participating businesses it converts six months of work into a route to contracts.
Sharakah, the Fund for Development of Youth Projects, was established by Royal Decree in 1998 to support small and medium enterprises in the Sultanate of Oman. It provides financial support, advisory services, capacity building and long-term follow-up, and delivers Tasaud across all three phases.
OQ Gas Networks operates the Sultanate's natural gas transportation network. Through Tasaud, OQGN aims to build a qualified pool of Omani suppliers capable of meeting its operational, safety and quality standards, strengthening its supplier ecosystem and expanding procurement opportunities for local SMEs.
